Participants are encouraged to show up in bright coloured clothes and to decorate themselves with lights.

Light party

Reykjavik Art Museum will be joyfully decorated on the inside and out. The race ends with this light party and live music inside the museum.

The Northern Lights Run is organized by Reykjavik Sports Union, union of sports clubs in Reykjavik. Other events organized by the Reykjavik Sports Union are: Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon in August, Laugavegur Ultra Marathon in July, Suzuki Midnight Sun Run and Tour of Reykjavik in June and Reykjavik International Games in January.
